Adi's Life

You know the summer is ending when you get to this long weekend. It signals one last get away and then the start of school. Although there is no start of school for myself but my youngest sister starts grade 11 this year. I can't believe it.

This weekend myself and my boyfriend were supposed to go away camping. We were both very much looking forward to this. The middle of this week though we decided to cancel the trip. The weather has been so miserable and it isn't supposed to be that great all weekend. Even though the next two days are supposed to be sunny it is still supposed to be pretty cool at night. Since we don't have all the right gear for rain we decided not to take our chances and change our plans.

So today instead we are going to go into the city. I'm really looking forward to it and it should be a fun day together.

This has been one long and quite week. I miss my boyfriend so so much. He left on the 15th for a family trip. It was kind of a last minute thing and I am glad that he got to go but I miss him alot. He should be home tomorrow and I'm so excited to see him.

This week I have done alot of cross stiching and movie watching. Mostly just chick flicks because he won't watch them with me. Last night my sister and I went out for Chinese food. That was fun. Besides her and my boyfriend I don't really have any friends of my own in this town, and I didn't really realize it that much until this week. I do hang out with the girls from work once in while and a couple girls from where I used to work but everybody seemed to be busy this week. It makes me wish I had a good friend here and makes me miss Erin even more.

I did enjoy the quiet time though and I do enjoy getting time to myself.

This weekend was one of the most fun weekends that I have had in a long time. On Friday night our younger sister came over from the island. It was a bit of a late night by the time we got home from the ferry. Saturday I had to work, so the two others went and did some shopping. It was so hot on Saturday that when I got home myself and youngest sister went down to our pool and hung out and swam for a couple hours. Then we cooked dinner and rented a couple movies and just hung out for the night. Sunday the three of us went to the PNE. It was a blast. We laughed so much. We mainly went to go on rides, and we sure did go on alot of them. After we ate lunch we took a break and went for a walk through some of the exhibits and bought tickets for the prize home. By about 5:30 it was starting to rain, wich was kind of perfect since we were all hot and tired and ready to leave, so this made leaving that much easier. Yesterday on the way to take my youngest sister back to the ferry we did a bit of back to school shopping for her. We had fun but our legs and feet were so tired from the day before that not a whole lot was bought. 

Overall it was a really fun weekend.

I have said before that I would put some pictures of my garden here and I am finally getting around to it. My garden is doing great. I never imagined a garden in pots on the porch could do so well. My roma tomato plant has six tomatoes growing, my cherry tomato plant on the other hand has almost 50 on it and is about 7 feet tall. One has ripened and I ate it tonight. We have had one cucumber from our plant and another one almost ready with alot more growing. Since I've taken the pictures I've also added a sunflower from my Dad's garden as they had about 40 growing.

The first picture is about two weeks after we planted it and the second picture is from about one and a half months after planting. They are both taken from sitting at the far end of the patio. I don't have any from this month taken yet but will post more later on.

The second week of my vacation went by almost faster than the first. I had a day at home to do laundry and pack to head to the Okanagan. I also spent some time with my boyfriend that day. Tuesday morning I got up and headed to Erin's. It took just over four hours with one quick stop.

The first night we stayed up very late just talking. The next day we hung out at her house and then went to her boyfriends for dinner and played some games. Most of the time was spent visiting. She showed me around a bit of were she used to live and where her parents live. We played alot of games and had so much fun. We went out to eat a few times and to the farmers market one day. I had such a great time.

The only downside is that the weather wasn't that great. Yesterday and today are beautiful of course because I am at home. Yesterday was a great day to swim in the pool, and it wasn't crowded wich was good.

I'm really not ready to go back to work tomorrow, but I guess I'll have to.
