Keys

Thursday, August 30, 2007
This afternoon I went and signed the paperwork, did the walk through and was given the keys to my new place. I am so excited. Tomorrow night I start moving in. By lunch on Saturday I will officially live there. I can't wait. I am just about done packing, all that is left is my clothing and the bathroom which I plan to do after work tomorrow while I wait for my family to get here. I hope it is nice this weekend since there is a pool there and I can't wait to use it!

5 sleeps

Sunday, August 26, 2007
I can't believe it, by this time next week I will be moved into my new place. It is very exciting but there is alot to do this week. I've done lots of packing but it seems every time I turn around there is more hiding in another corner. I had to stop because I ran out of boxes and newspaper. I only have a few things in my livingroom left and then 98% of the kitchen left to do. It will be well worth it though, the new apartment is really nice. I can't wait.

technology hates me

Wednesday, August 22, 2007
I have to say that I have not had a whole lot of luck lately with anything that relies on technology. First I had no internet for about a month. That got fixed. Then about a week and a half ago I broke the cord to plug in my laptop. I found a computer shop that sold them for the least amount that I could find. A day later my computer gives up. It has been at the computer shop for about a week, he says he thinks its toast but wanted the other guy to look at it. It was supposed to be done on Saturday. I didn't get a call so I went in there on Monday and nobody had looked at it and he promised it would get done the next day. Well it's been two days now and no call so I'm going to have to go back in there tomorrow and find out what is going on. Now my phone is starting to go. I put a new battery in it but I don't think that is the problem. Why can't everything just work like it is supposed to?

Apartment Hunting

Friday, August 10, 2007
This week was the start of my search for a place to live. It was very frusterating and stressed me out quite a bit even though it was only a couple days. I starting making phone calls Tuesday after work and found that most two bedrooms where more than I wanted to spend. Then Wednesday I phoned to try and set up appointments to look at places. Almost every place I called didn't have any two bedrooms for September first, I found one that had a couple and made an appointment for this morning. I was quite worried because even if it was a decent place there was no guarantee for me to get it. So I got up early this morning and set out to look. The first appartment he showed me was cheaper by almost $100 and was horrible, the carpets where gross and the appliances looked ancient. Then he asked if I wanted to look at the more expensive one, so I said sure even though I didn't expect much. On the way to it he explained that it is more because it has had a whole lot of renovations. It was gorgeous. New carpets, fresh paint, new blinds, new appliances, new cabinets, new countertop, new bathroom sink, new shelves in the closets, a walk in closet in the master bedroom and it overlooks the pool in the courtyard. I loved it, well worth the little bit extra, the layout is even good. He asked if I was interested and it was easy to say yes. So I went to the office and filled out an application. Not even two hours later I got a phone call saying that my application was approved. Tomorrow morning I go and pay my damage deposit to secure it. I'm so excited to move now.

long weekend

Monday, August 06, 2007
Up here in Canada this weekend was a long weekend. It is BC day today. This is the first time in a long time that I've had a long weekend off and I have to say it is one of the best I've ever had. Where I live this weekend was the fair. At the fair there are beer gardens. On Saturday night I went with my boyfriend, his roommate and his brother. We had so much fun. There was lots of drinking and lots of dancing. I ended the night not so great, but my boyfriend was wonderful and took care of me. Yesterday we all slept in and then he cooked a good breakfast. We lazed around most of the day and napped. Later in the afternoon we finally got up and he barbequed us an amazing dinner. After that a few of us went to watch the fireworks. They were a bit lame but it was still fun. And now I still have today off. I couldn't of asked for a better way to spend the weekend.

1 month

Thursday, August 02, 2007
In one month my sister is going to be moving in with me. This means I have less than a month to find a bigger place. As much as I love living on my own and not having to worry about anything like not doing the dishes right away if I don't want to because there is nobody else, it is going to be fun to have someone around. It means having someone to share the housework and company on those days when you don't feel like doing anything. As much as moving sucks, it is going to be fun. My sister is extremely excited, this will be her first time living away from home and I think a good stepping stone for her to living on her own.
