Mini Vacation

Sunday, October 29, 2006
I am very excited. Tomorrow after work I am going away for a couple nights to my Grandma's house. I haven't been there in over a year and I can't wait. Going there is truly going home as it is the first place I ever lived. I hope that the weather is half decent so that I can go for a walk on the beach.

I have to catch to ferries to get there. The first on being an hour and a half. This is good people watching time. I always bring a book or cross stitch with the intentions of keeping myself occupied by I always end up listening to the people around me and watching the people that are walking by. My grandma is going to pick me up and then we are meeting my mom for dinner. Then it will be off to the second ferry, this one is only twenty minutes though so its not too bad, you don't even have to get out of the car.

It will be nice to be away for a couple days and not have to worry about a thing.

A Night Out

Monday, October 23, 2006
This Saturday night myself and two girls from work went to Vancouver to party. Along with us there were one of the girls two boy cousins along with three of their buddies. The eight of us shared a couple hotel rooms and spent the night at a club. Because two of us worked til 9:30 we didn't end up getting to the hotel til about 10:30. We ended up not getting in to the club till quite late but it was still a blast. We spent most of the time dancing. I danced with a couple different guys, one who bought me a shot of something. At the end of the night I brought these two guys from New York back with us because we were supposed to be partying in our hotel room. We ended up not because a couple of the guys were passed out. So we hung out there for a bit and then four of us wandered around for a while and then ended up hanging out at the guys hotel room for a while. We got back to our hotel around 6:30am. For some reason unknown to all of us six of us ended up crashing in the same room. I got to share a pull out couch with one of the boys. That was fine with me because I was freezing and he was nice and warm so I just cuddled up to him all night.

During our wandering around I was pretty cold so I borrowed one of the guys hoodies. He is from New York. He was supposed to come by and get it in the morning but never did. We have each others numbers and emails and bright and early this morning I got a text message saying I still had his sweater. It smells so good I don't want to give it back, but he wants me to mail it to him.

Yesterday was hard, I wasn't hung over but extremely tired and we had a 4.5 hour staff meeting. I did get a good long sleep last night so that was nice.

I can't wait to do it again.

Review

Thursday, October 19, 2006
Today I got my review. There was nothing on there surprising. They pretty much tell you as you go any mistakes that you made. You get a score on your review. Each section is 1-5. A breakdown of each number.

5 being supremely excellent and apparently pretty much near impossible to get, you'd have to not make one mistake in the time period for your review.

4 is super duper good.

3 is really good.

2 is good.

1 is allright.

So technically that isn't what each number is but basically what it is summed up to. My overall score was 2.4 wich is apparently really good for three months. Right now the score means nothing because at three months you automatically get a .50 raise, but for future reviews the score is what your raise is based on. The one thing that sucks about it is if you haven't had that situation then you get a no and this negatively affects your score. There are a couple things that I have to work on but I was kind of expecting them. Totally painless and I'll be getting another one in Janaury.

3 months

Wednesday, October 18, 2006
At the beginning of this month it was my three month date at work. At three months we get a review along with a raise. They just have to have the review handed in to the district manager by the date and then give it to you once he approves it. Today was supposed to be the day I got mine. I got to work and my manager was out sick today. This meant no review. I was midly disappointed, I was looking forwarding to finding out everything. I mean when you make mistakes they tell you..but I wanted to know everything all put together. Well, I guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

Driving

Sunday, October 15, 2006
This weekend my mom and sisters came to visit me and it feels like all I did was drive. Friday after work I drove to the ferry to get them and because it was rush hour it took about two hours. Then we had dinner and I drove us home, only taking about an hour since it was now later. Saturday I drove us into Vancouver so we could do some shopping. It was alot of fun. I have to say we did alot of walking downtown while we were there. Then I drove us home. Today I drove to Coquitlam because my Grandma was there and they were going to go with her onto the ferry. We did some shopping there, then some visiting and then I got to drive home. It was a very fun weekend, lots of giggles and games but it feels as if I've been driving all weekend.

Settling In

Tuesday, October 10, 2006
I feel as if I'm settling into my new place and new town. Even though things aren't quite organized it is feeling like my place. The town I can now get to places effortlessly. I can get to places without having to think about the route I'm going to take. I've also gotten rid of a bunch of stuff from my house that I just don't need. I usually have a hard time doing this, but I just did it and it feels good to not have alot of clutter.
